FOOT = Freshmen Overseas Orientation Trip

An event organised yearly. A 6 days camp for freshmen while a 8 days camp for seniors

8 days camp excluding Day -1

Day ZERO

Nothing much to do actually. Checking of games stores and helping stuffs that i could help. But apparently day zero's manpower was more then enough. So i got to relac a bit here and there.

Day ONE

Finally the day had come. FOOT started on 14th July with the xiao bai's ringtone that woke me up at AR2. I'm grateful that yihui, junzhong and weizhen helped me for the game stations around the school. Of course not forgetting FOOT com ppl that helped out at other stations. Although i'm just touring around the school in vehicle with laobans, it seems like i've walked a thousand miles and feeling shag. But the anxiety feeling came when we set off for night cycling!

Loving cycling and leading a bunch of adults for cycling is a total different issue! haha. Pros and cons here and there. Leading 10 ppl on the road is ok. But leading cyclist who had no experience on road is also another challenge. Mike and me had 5 cyclist who never travel on road before and i had at least 3 of them in my pack. But i'm proud of them as they tried the whole journey of up slopes and down slopes and more up up up slopes! I think the greatest experience that octans had was hidding at the shelther (toilet) that is full of FLIES!

With only about 3-4 hours of sleep, Day TWO arrived

Day TWO

Freshmen started their activity with me giving some boring briefing again. haha.. i think they also sick of see-ing me liao. Thanks gwen for helping me during the briefing for dragonboat. hehe...imagine if she's not there..i'm also at lost of words simply because... i'm not a dragonboater!

Headed as advance team, this was the time for me to SLEEP! yes! at last i got all my precious sleep during the bus ride to BEKOK town and the 4WD that fetch us to endau rompin.

Day THREE

Another advance party who went trekking and tie the ropes, i was part of the slacker's party at the campsite til yonghan told me " eh..if we're not able to come back in time, help me give the briefing hor" haha..another temporary assignment for me. ok...so indeed, the freshies listen to the boring campsite briefing but yet important breifing for the campsite. But i'm glad the freshies were not very noisy while i was trying to raise my voice to say all the important things that yonghan wanted to say.

Day FOUR

Another important component of the camp for the day : trekking!

I was put at the Tapah campsite with Douglas just in case any emergency things to be done. **Sorry Tian tai tai.

We waited there from the start of trek til the end of trek, about 6 hours. Guess what we did? we slept all the way. haha!

Campfire night was short once again. I didnt enjoy the process at all. I guess i only enjoy when forming the choir team to sing the tune 'LIMBO ROCK'.

Day FIVE

By then, jasmine and jean were sicked being waken up by me. haha.. the irritating kid who wakes them up every morning(i think) since day one! And i think i had a surprise back in singapore by the laobans who bought the cake for us! yeah! yum yum...i love CAKES.

Day SIX

The camp ended off with canoe polo followed by SP Night. Nice decorations by the SP Night com! thank you very much :) the place look nice. I was recruited as the AVA crew for SP night. haha

Day SEVEN

the day ended off with STORE EIGHT WAN-SUI and meeting.
Once again, thank you all seniors who have helped and the hardwork by the SPOs, loanshark, secretary, welfares, logs, programmers.

Camp is over but i believed that the foot com family spirit never dies. i think we'll be expecting outings popping out of no where for us to meet up even just for a simple meal :)

I joined odac camp back in 2007 when jasmine png asked me to search for that thick piece of paper in the package to signed up for. with the blur blur mind and thinking outdoor activities suit me, i went ahead signing up the camp without knowing there's a website that existed. I've decided to stay on in odac back then vs strings due to the fact that i wanted to do things in a team again. Not that we dun work as a team in strings, i just dun feel the "together" thing in them when i went for few practise. Maybe i was using SPSE back then as comparison. What happened in their practises was that ppl really climb all the way up to nanyang house for practise, and when the clock strikes for ppl to go home, no one even bothers to help keep the chairs. The very first concert that i attended with them, stage crew knows nothing and performers where just sitting and chatting around.

To FOOT 08 com, different paths that we'll be walking when sch starts. Even though we had spent much money in FOOT, i think all of us will still sign up for the 5 dollar membership and see each other during AGM right? hehe.
