And here comes 17 and 18th feb which is spent in harbin. A short two days to the place. The rest of the families travel down nearer to Shanghai while our family travel up towards north. We took an airplane form beijing to harbin and during the flight, met this kind guy who started talking to me. At the end of the flight, he gave us his contact number so that we can contact him .

So, from the airport, being a foreigner, we took cab again. To us is pretty cheap to take a cab, but to them, they are earning big bucks. So this cab driver said we're wearing too little to even go to the 冰雕 and 雪雕. He drove us to a shop to buy the clothings and all of us spent almost 500rmb there. which is equivalent to abt 100 sgd. Havent start playing but spent 100sgd  when we reached harbin. -_-'''. But at the end of the two days, we felt ok with the 100sgd because without those clothings, dun think we can survive long at that temperature. For both the days, i think it was abt -16 to -24.

On the 17th, we went to 太阳岛(雪雕) and 冰雪大世界. Did a lot of stuns at 太阳岛. Or rather i shld say stupid stuns. Jump into the snow and do the angel shape, roll on the snow, throwing snow at kim heng...errr....
suaku first time see snow, draw on the snow, slide on the snow... the food were expensive too. at 冰雪大世界,we spent 20RMB = 4SGD to eat cup noodles for dinner.

Shops close early during winter. After 冰雪大世界 at around 8pm +, we had nothing to do and so we head home. the cab driver drove the wrong direction of 红专街, and by chance, we found 中央大街. This street is a recommended place by the friend whom we know from plane, qinglin. He accompanied us to  中央大街 on our second night there, which is also our last night. Harbin was once under Russia and so, this street sells russia things. A place that's is full of their citizen, as well as tourist. Too many shops that sell souvenirs, and almost all selling the same things. The street is 1.4km long. Written somewhere on the streets, but i believe its longer. We tried their 马迭尔 ice cream and bread. not bad! the bread smells nice from far. The ice cream is made of egg and milk. Quite like it (:

but we missed e chance to eat ice cream cake. sold out! After all e walking of streets, qinglin brought us to some place for 水饺 as dinner. me,who doesnt really like 水饺, find it super duper nice. if i have a chance to go back harbin e next time, i'll confirm bring whoever who is with me to that shop house to eat.
it doesnt look appetizing, but there's soup that comes out from it when u bite. Best part is, after leaving it on the table for long, the 皮doesnt turn 硬.

So much abt our last night in harbin, lets see what we did during the morning. We went to some place to ski. its called 北极滑雪场. spent 520RMB there skiing, with an hour charge for instructor. I'm quite happy with my progress there. Easy to master it, errr.. not say master, but to get the hang of it as compared to roller blading or ice skating. one word to describe the sport : COOL! Stayed outdoors for abt 4 hours, and jeff did his stun there at the cold weather of at least -16C. *watch the video from my fb

Followed by visiting the tigers in the noon. To me, going to the 虎林 is nothing special, but watching tourist feeding them is something that i enjoyed.

To round up the whole post, we spent almost 2500RMB for a 5 day trip. 3 days in Beijing, 2 days in Harbin. And most of the cost is contributed by Harbin's short 2 days trip. Time to save up monthly pay..which is quite impossible. And boss gave me angbao! my first angbao for the year. wohoooooooooooooooooooo

A view of the russian street,中央大街, with fireworks.
